The Longest Holiday - Paige Toon

Synopsis:

'Don't wait for the storm to pass; learn to dance in the rain…'

Laura has been married to the man of her dreams for seven months. But a week before the wedding, Matthew made a terrible mistake.

Escaping the humiliation that is now her marriage, Laura is whisked off to Florida's Key West by her best friend Marty. A carefree holiday full of cocktails and fun, surrounded by gorgeous, tanned men, is exactly what the doctor ordered.

Distraction comes in the form of sexy Cuban scuba diver Leo. Laura's instant attraction to him knocks her flying, and she falls hard.

As the end of the holiday approaches, Laura doesn't want to go home. Is it time to face the music? Or is there more to Key West than a holiday romance?

Review:

I read this book in one day! I loved the story of Leo and Laura - and how it developed! It came with some unexpected twists too!

I’m annoyed with how her family and friends acted throughout, which is a sign of good writing! Sometimes I find it difficult to connect with characters in a book, especially if they are not the main ones. I did not have this problem here though and that is down to Paige's excellent writing style which really draws you in to the story.

I wasn’t overly happy with the ending but we can’t always have it our way can we!! I scored this book a 4 stars out of 5, purely because the ending wasn't perfect for me. Everything else wa
s wonderful!!
